Memorial museum-estate of Leonid Smorzh
In the village of Miskі Mlyny, right next to Opishnia, there is a place where the entire history of Ukrainian culture is gathered in a single space. The Leonid Smorzh Memorial Museum-Estate is more than just a museum; it is the world of a man who was deeply in love with pottery.
Leonid Smorzh was a philosopher, scholar, and passionate collector. He assembled one of Ukraine’s largest private collections of Opishne ceramics—nearly 700 unique pieces by renowned masters. Many of them are one-of-a-kind.
But it’s not just about clay here. At the estate, you can see embroidered shirts, towels, Easter eggs, antique icons, paintings, and even a personal library with thousands of books. All of this creates a sense of living culture—diverse, profound, and very Ukrainian.
This is a place about a love for tradition that you can not only study but also experience.
