Beidzha spring

Beidzha spring

The thunder well — is one of those places in Opishna where nature, legend and human faith are intertwined in a special atmosphere of peace and strength. Hidden among the hills near the ethnic settlement «Staryi Khutir», it attracts not only with clean water, but also with stories that are passed down from generation to generation.
According to legend, the spring appeared after a strong lightning strike: the ground seemed to open, and within a few days it was flooded with water. Since then, the well has been called «thunderbolt» — the one born of thunder. There is more to this — legend than just a beautiful story: it adds a sense of mystery and elemental power to the place.
Later, the source received another popular name — Beijina well. It has already appeared in modern times, but it has taken root so organically that it has become part of the local cultural memory.
In 2007, the spring was revived for the second time — thanks to the monk John Ovsius, who personally cleared it, arranged the area and gave the place a well-kept appearance. Since then, there has been a wall with icons, a small bathhouse and a cozy space for relaxation and reflection. A wooden cross has been installed nearby, which enhances the sense of spirituality of the place.
Local residents believe in the healing properties of water — say it is especially clean, cool and even contains silver. They come here to drink spring water, wash themselves, be alone with nature or just feel the silence.
Today, Krynytsia-gromovytsia — is a small but very special point on the tourist map of Opishna. There is no commotion here, only the rustling of leaves, the murmur of water and the feeling of harmony. This is a place where people come not only for water —, but also for inner peace.
